the subject matter expert (SME) of distribution processes,
partnering with functional teams including operations, IT,
maintenance, quality, and contractors to identify and deliver
solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and service
level for Arrow's distribution centers within the Americas.This
role will provide expertise and leadership in process optimization
and data analysis to maximize the total performance and operating
capability of each functional group in the distribution centers.
Leads the distribution center's best practices, technology
applications, material handling systems, facility planning, project
management, and procedures to ensure that business and project
objectives are achieved.Principal Accountabilities
- Responsible for the design and build of equipment and managing
the implementation of improvement solutions for the production
floor in the areas of personnel and equipment utilization.
- Design and build equipment for specific business units or
customers to use. Develop process, procedures and testing for
business units and customers, generally for distribution and
production centers. Create, maintain, and provide documentation.
Evaluate and maintain quality of cycle time and processes.
Specialized engineering projects requiring high level engineering
skills and analytical capabilities, including scripting, software
development and test procedures. Determine and obtain specialized
device support.
- Provide support for business units and customers; provide
technical training support - develop, update, and maintain
instructional documents and process instructions to assist in
production within the unit, parts ordering, facility layout.
Determine and assist with specialized technical device related
issues.
- Manage implementation of improvement solutions; identify areas
to improve equipment or personnel utilization on the production
floor. Monitor implemented solutions and present findings to
appropriate management groups as needed. Update manufacturing
instructions.
- Resolve manufacturing issues, address production, design,
construct, and debug operations and determine efficiency; respond
to floor issues as circumstances dictate or calculate labor to
production floor. Lead teams, mentor individuals with respect to
production and quality issues, metrics and formal problem
solving.
- Provide support to new equipment or processes development
purposes.What You'll Be Doing:
- Responsible for the data analysis, design, and implementation
of capital projects, cost savings/improvement solutions for the
distribution center in the areas of personnel, programs, and
equipment utilization.
- Create, develop, and modify new and existing warehouse layouts,
including material flow, waste reduction, and ergonomics, utilizing
Lean Manufacturing best practices.
- Utilize and train peers in structured problem-solving
techniques. DMAIC, A3, 5W, 8D, Fishbone diagram.
- Develop processes, procedures and testing for business units
and customers, generally for distribution and production centers.
Create, maintain, and provide documentation.
- Provide support for warehouse operations, provide technical
training support - develop, update, and maintain instructional
documents and process instructions to assist in operations within
the facility.
- Manage project implementation of improvement solutions or new
process/software introductions; identify areas to improve
equipment, process, or personnel utilization. Monitor implemented
solutions and present findings to appropriate management groups as
needed. Update work instructions.
- Resolve processing issues, address process, design, construct,
and debug operations and determine efficiency; respond to floor
issues as circumstances dictate or calculate labor to
operations.
- Analyze process capabilities to influence leadership decisions
through critical data analysis and an in-depth understanding of
product variety within the warehouse, utilizing tools such as Toad,
R, JMP, Python, Minitab, Power BI.
- Lead Value Stream Maps, Workflows and Process Flows creation
and development.
- Support creation and development of FMEAs, and Control
Plans
- Create technical specifications for automated manufacturing
equipment.What We Are Looking For:
- 4-year industrial/mechanical/supply chain engineering
degree.
- 7+ years of industrial/process engineering experience.
- Subject Matter Expert in distribution processes.
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment (MHE), conveyance,
and vendor relations.
- Proficiency in Slotting software, AutoCAD, VBA/SQL, Visio, MS
Project, Power BI, and Minitab.
- Proficiency in developing engineered labor management and/or
engineering time standards.
- Analytical capabilities utilizing statistical analysis to
identify process optimization opportunities.
- Ability to manage and lead multiple projects simultaneously and
prioritize workload based on business needs.
